Shenstone School's black tie event raises £5,000
On Saturday the 19th of October, the Friends of Shenstone Charity held its first-ever formal black tie event to raise funds for »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ's Shenstone School.
The evening was a huge success, with over 90 people attending in their very best attire!
Executive Headteacher Lori Mackey's persuasive auctioneering skills helped to raise £5,000, substantially more than the hoped-for target of £3,000. Guests were abe to bid on a range of items including sports memorobilia - One successful bidder won a pair of signed Millwall FC shirts and this raised £300.
The evening ended with dancing and it was decided that this should become an annual event. The next 'Friends of Shenstone Ball' will be held in November 2025, and is already anticipated to be a popular addition to the winter social calandar.
The funds raised will be put towards the purchase of a mini bus for the school's expanding secondary site and will help Shenstone students to engage with their personal development and life skills curriculum.
