»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Headteachers conference 2025
Headteachers from all 45 »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ schools attended the Trust's conference at the Atkins Centre at the start of this term. It was an opportunity for all our school leaders to come together from our special, primary, secondary and all through schools across London and the South and East of England.
Our CEO Dr Karen Roberts and Deputy CEO Liz Harrison started the conference and were followed by our Director of People and Culture Sadeea Magee. Sadeea talked about the importance of vantage points in leadership. This was followed by a funding update from our Director of Finance and Operations Steve Dickman. The aims of our Equitable Funding model are to provide every pupil in »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ schools with the best education and to build a Trust that is sustainable now and for the long term future.
'Towards Outstanding' looked at how we can continue our journey of progress. Almost 90% of our schools are now Good or better in Ofsted, compared to under 30% at the point those schools joined the Trust. Front Lawn was our first Primary to be judged Outstanding across the Board by Ofsted, and inspectors have told many of our schools in the most recent inspections that they would have been Outstanding if it had been a graded inspection.
There were also really engaging presentations from a number of our Outstanding schools - such as Hilltop, Napier, Heybridge, and Debden Park - about how they strive every day to deliver an excellent education for all their pupils.
Dr Karen Roberts said: "I was blown away by our Headteachers at the conference. We heard about some inspirational approaches to oracy, personal development, engagement and belonging. The key thread which came through so strongly from all was their knowledge of and love for the children in their care. We want to ensure that the sharing of good and exceptional practice is an integral part of our work. There is so much we can learn from each other."
