Media entrepreneurs visit Rainham School for Girls
This week, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ's Rainham School for Girls had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Mark Allen and Joanna Kirby from the , a leading and dynamic media and information group.
Their visit was a truly inspiring and impactful experience for our »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ ACE students and wider school students proudly presented their innovative business plan ideas, receiving thoughtful encouragement and insightful feedback from both guests. Mark Allen, in particular, generously shared his deeply personal and inspiring story—an experience that resonated strongly with students and staff alike. His words were a powerful reminder of resilience, ambition, and the importance of giving back.
Mark’s generosity extended far beyond his time and wisdom. The school was overwhelmed and deeply grateful for his incredible support, including Amazon vouchers and thoughtful gifts for students, as well as an unexpected extraordinary donation. This funding will directly support several student-led projects: the continued development of the RSG Therapy and Wellbeing ACE Garden, enhancements to Sixth Form study spaces, improvements to the school library, the exploration of outdoor fitness equipment, and new opportunities in archery.
In addition to his philanthropic support, Mark also offered tailored advice to our Sixth Form students on journalism and business, drawing from his experience as a successful media entrepreneur. His guidance left a lasting impression on our young people, many of whom were visibly inspired by his achievements.
Mark and Joanna spent over four hours at the school, engaging in a lively Q&A session with ACE students. The event was watched by an excitable audience from both Year 7 and the Sixth Form. The atmosphere was electric—buzzing with enthusiasm, hope, and admiration. Students left the session energised and full of ideas, and the entire morning was a celebration of ambition, possibility, and connection.
We are immensely thankful for the time spent with our students. We sincerely hope this visit marks the beginning of a strong and enduring partnership between the Mark Allen Group, Rainham School for Girls, and the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ ACE programme.
